Cheryl C. Giraudy | Design as Common Good

Cheryl C. Giraudy B.Arch. MSc. OAA MRAIC Associate Professor OCAD University, is a practicing architect engaging in inclusive design research and advocacy practice for equitable built environments and public space. For over 20 years, Cheryl was consultant for an international facility planning organization employing human-centred and serviceability standards for large complexes such as government and corporate offices, embassies, and more. At OCAD University, Cheryl has held posts of Associate Dean in the Faculty of Design and Graduate Program Director, Inclusive Design in which she holds a masters. She has led inclusive design research with course-based projects, external and international partnerships, and other academic and granted work. Her participatory research, in process of publication, focusses on diverse communities across Toronto that have been underrepresented in decision-making for development of the public realm. She fosters co-design strategies for equitable and creative placemaking along with the accessible navigation of them.
